For a great summary of last week’s panel, Women’s Economic Equality: The Next Frontier in Women’s Rights, hosted by Legal Momentum (and starring Heather Boushey, Linda Hirshman, Mimi Abramowitz, and Irasema Garza), check out Kyla Bender-Baird over at The REAL Deal.

I write to my local newspapers and representatives when women are not included and when human rights are infringed. It’s amazing how much power the pen can have. Speaking of women and human rights - I thought you and your readers would like the Women of Tibet film project as well, documentaries about the contributions of Tibetan women to the history, politics, and Tibet in exile. The stories told in the films are rare and priceless. The first one is about the Dalai Lama’s mother and the archetype of The Great Mother, and the second film tells the story of three generations of Tibetan women, and the Tibetan Women’s Uprising (we just commemorated 50 years hence). The films air on PBS, you can see when, buy copies, and view trailers at the website.
